How to take nail photos

- Wash your hands and remove your nail polish and WIPE the nails with 70-96% IPA (ALCOHOL)
- Use a white background (for example a towel)
- Use a direct lighting in front of the nails (like a desk lamp) 30-40 cm from the nails. Make sure you can see a light bouncing off the nails. Bright indoor light is not enough!
- Wipe the camera lens with a soft cloth.
- Place your nails in the middle of the screen approximately 6 inches/15 cm away from the phone
- Tap the area you want the camera to focus on (nails)
- Holding the phone still take a picture
- Repeat with other nails.
- Check the quality before you send it. Zoom in and see if the images are sharp. The images have to be "actual size" (high resolution, large file). Usually, it is better to attach them as attachments rather than send them as pictures. Do not edit or crop them.
- Smartphones are more than able to take good images but iPads are not.
